Beta Analytic joined the Society for American Archaeology (SAA) annual meeting this year. From March 30-April 3, 2022, the radiocarbon dating lab welcomed inquiries in its booth. The Miami-based lab also promoted the geochemical fingerprinting services of subsidiary, Isobar Science.
Present at the four-day event in Chicago were Ms. Florencia Goren and Ms. Bailey Gemberling. Ms. Goren is Beta Analytic VP, while Ms. Gemberling is an account manager.
Beta is a consistent supporter of the SAA over the years. The lab joins the annual meetings to promote its Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) and stable isotope services. Lab representatives also introduced Isobar’s uranium-thorium dating and strontium or lead analytical services.
The lab will exhibit at the next SAA annual meeting slated for March 29-April 2, 2023, in Portland, Oregon.
Beta Analytic provided the prize for this year’s SAA Student Paper Award winner. Ms. Kirsty E. Escalante of Tulane University received a voucher for one standard AMS date worth US$625 and other gifts.
The SAA and the American Cultural Resources Association (ACRA) jointly sponsored this year’s CRM expo. The event aims to showcase cultural resource management practitioners and their training programs. SAA members had the opportunity to meet principals and educators in the CRM industry. Another hot topic at the expo is employment opportunities.
