Radiocarbon lab Beta Analytic is joining the 83rd Annual Meeting of the Society of American Archaeology (SAA) to be held at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC. From April 11-15, 2018, the lab’s Deputy Director and Technical Manager Chris Patrick and North American Operations Manager Brett Bell will be available at Booth #205 for inquiries.
“We are joining the SAA annual meeting this year to promote our core services which now include stable isotope analysis for non-cremated bones, carbonates, water and various organic materials. Researchers submitting non-cremated bones for radiocarbon dating will also get d13C and d15N measurements, %C, %N and C:N ratio at no additional cost. We also provide stable isotope analysis on standalone basis without AMS dating,”Mr. Bell says.
The lab is also promoting its first-ever AMS date raffle at the event.
Beta Analytic supports the SAA by joining its annual meetings as an exhibitor. This year, the lab also provided a radiocarbon date prize to the winners of the SAA Student Paper Award.
The next SAA annual meeting is going to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on April 10-14, 2019.
With more than 7,500 members from various professional backgrounds, the SAA is focused on the research and protection of American archaeological heritage. The international organization taps different segments of society to advance knowledge and raise awareness of the past. The SAA is against all forms of looting and sale of archaeological materials.
ISO 17025-accredited Beta Analytic has provided radiocarbon dating services since 1979. Based in Miami, Florida, the lab uses Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) technology, which provides the most precise and accurate Carbon-14 measurements. The lab is known worldwide for its fast turnaround time (14 business days or less) and prompt client support.
Beta Analytic’s lab is also equipped with isotope ratio mass spectrometers for stable isotope analysis.
Clients may send their samples directly to the Miami lab or to any of its forwarding facilities in Xiamen, China; London, UK: Nagoya, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; and Taipei, Taiwan.
